The Oxford - Large Ottoman Tray. Beatrice Bloom London has curated the iconic print pattern by using Osbourne & Little's 'Penguin Library" wallpaper and created a show stopping home accent.

Penguin Books was founded in 1935 by Sir Allen Lane. The concept behind Penguin was to make quality literature affordable and accessible to the general public. To distinguish Penguin books from other publications, Edward Young, a 21-year-old office junior, was given the task of designing a distinctive and recognisable cover. Young came up with the idea of using a simple, colour design with horizontal bands.

The first Penguin book, "Ariel" by André Maurois, was released on July 30, 1935, and had a tripartite cover design with horizontal bands of colour – orange for fiction, green for crime, and blue for biography. Pelican Books, a non-fiction imprint of Penguin, was established in 1937, expanding the publisher's focus to include educational and informative works.

Painted in Little Greene's shade of 'Jack Black' This pigment is actually derived by gathering the residue generated from the soot and combustion of oil - it's an absolute back that allows the colourful print decoupaged onto the tray to really pop.

my trays have been hand crafted and finished in the art of decoupage. Several layers of UV and water resistant varnish have been applied to insure the papers are sealed and your pieces will stand the test of time for generations to come. Care instructions: please wipe or dust with a soft fabric dust cloth and furniture polish.

I want to clarify that I am not affiliated with any of the brands mentioned on this page. My admiration for their designs and colors is purely personal. Additionally, I assure you that all papers I use are 100% authentic.
