They have been hand crafted and finished in the art of decoupage. Several layers of UV and water resistant varnish have been applied to insure the papers are sealed and your pieces will stand the test of time for generations to come. Care instructions: please wipe or dust with a soft fabric dust cloth and furniture polish.
Broadstairs trays - expertly decoupaged in the striking Willow Bough Cornubia paper a collaboration between Morris & Co. and renowned interior designer Ben Pentreath and this is beautifully showcased in the latest addition to their repertoire—the Queen Square Wallpaper Collection. In 1865 William Morris and his family moved to Queen's Square, in Holborn.
Among Morris's most iconic designs, this uncomplicated all-over wallpaper dates back to 1874, preceding the more elaborate Willow Boughs by 13 years. Selected by Ben Pentreath for its smaller scale and meticulously recoloured to align with his creative vision, the leaf green colour way adds a fresh maximalism distinctive touch.
The Broadstairs is painted in Little Greene's Yellow Pink. This shade was previously linked to a yellow hue extracted from the Woad plant, showcasing a luxurious earthy tone popularly utilized in wallpaper dyeing. This distinct Yellow-Pink shade, akin to a robust mustard, finds its essence in the ochre pigment, a time-honored decorative medium with roots tracing back to ancient civilizations.
