The Compton pattern was originally crafted by the skilled hands of John Henry Dearle in 1895, Compton bears the hallmark of exquisite design tailored exclusively for Compton Hall in Wolverhampton, the esteemed residence of Laurence Hodson. Originally conceived to grace the grandeur of vertical spaces, this intricate pattern, boasting 28 vibrant hues, demanded the precision of two sets of wood blocks for printing.
Over time, Compton's allure has been gracefully scaled and reimagined, extending its enchantment to a broader audience while retaining its timeless charm. Today, Compton remains a beloved choice, the burnt orange and brown colour way is simply exquisite. Paired with Little Greene's Lute on the painted each hand crafted piece in the Belgravia collection will elevate your living space to sheer elegance.
